Auditions
Ryan was our first auditionee for the main role. He showed great enthusiasm but lacked the experience to make the performance look realistic. His position on screen was too relaxed and didn't look comfortable when signing, this made it clear to us that Ryan wouldn't be suitable for the main role. As well Ryan's personality was the polar opposite to the protagonists, this would make it difficult for even an experienced actor to make the role convincing. James was our second auditionee. James was very thorough with his preparation up to the performance which made him look very professional. Also when he was performing he looked very comfortable and seemed to fit the protagonists role very well, his posture and style of singing complimented the song. Furthermore, James has an extensive background in performances like plays and musicals which means he has a lot of experience in front of a crowd. We will consider James for the role of protagonist. Harry was our last auditionee. Harry was also very thorough with his preparation up to the performance, this made him look very good but when it came to the performance he didn't seem serious enough, this made us think about how he would perform in the real production. However, during his performance he looked very comfortable and has had a lot of real life experience singing for a band, this makes his audition very strong but because of the non-serious performance we believe that he wouldn't be suitable for the role. From the poll you can see that the audience preferred James over the other auditionee's. The most common answer that the target audience gave as to why they preferred James was because he looked most comfortable. There were also other positive feedback saying that his style of singing was suited to the rock genre which is beneficial because thats the genre song we want to do.
